The coal-fired power plant project will be invested by Shanghai Electric Power's Turkey EMBA Power Generation Co., Ltd., which will build a 2×660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating unit to simultaneously construct flue gas desulfurization and SCR denitrification devices. The emissions will be superior to EU standards and gas turbine standards. The site is located in Adana, Turkey's fifth largest city, close to the Mediterranean Sea, in the Gulf of Iskenderun, and is a coastal power plant. The project has a construction period of 48 months and a design annual utilization time of more than 6,500 hours, with a total investment of about $1.7 billion.
The coal-fired power plant project is an important project for the China State Power Investment Corporation Limited in the Turkish power market. China State Power Investment Corporation Limited can make full use of the rich experience of large-scale thermal power investment construction and operation. At present, the participating units of the Shanghai Electric Power Turkey project are aiming to build the Hunutru coal-fired power plant project in Turkey into a “clean, efficient and reliable world-class power plant”, and promote the project construction with high quality.
