China Coal Machinery Company Signed Vietnam Nam Dinh Coal-fired Power Plant General Contract 01 Jun 2018

Recently, China Coal Machinery Company and Saudi Arabian ACWA Power Company and Korea Taekwang Electric Power Company signed the EPC contract for 2 x 600,000 kilowatts of coal-fired power station project in Nam Dinh, Vietnam.

The 2 x 600,000 kilowatts of coal-fired power plant project in Nam Dinh was jointly invested by Saudi Arabian ACWA Power Company and Korea Taekwang Electric Power Company, with a total investment of approximately US$2.2 billion. The project is located in Nam Dinh, Vietnam, about 100 kilometers from the capital Hanoi. The construction includes the construction of two 600,000 kilowatts subcritical circulating fluidized bed generator sets, each equipped with two 300 MW circulating fluidized bed boilers. After the project is completed, it will effectively ease the local power supply shortage, stimulate employment, provide about 4,000 jobs for the local people, train a group of experienced skilled workers to promote the development of local building materials production, product manufacturing and comprehensive services etc. and prompt the transformation of the economic structure and the improvement of people’s living standards in Vietnam.
Vietnam is an important neighboring country to China and an important country along the “Belt and Road”. The demand for energy infrastructure investment and construction is strong and it is an important overseas market for China Coal Machinery Company. Under the background of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the acceleration of international capacity cooperation, the project closely follows the country’s “going global” policy orientation and “capacity cooperation” strategy and carries out special plans for key countries along the “Belt and Road”, adhering to high-end market and collaborative development.
