Shanxi Coking Coal Group (China) Completes its First “Belt and Road” Initiative Project 01 May 2018

On March 29th, 2018, the Georgian Industrial Group Tkibuli coal mine project exchange group visited Shanxi Coking Coal Group. The parties reached a consensus on the feasibility of the Tkibuli coal mine project which is the first “Belt and Road” initiative project of Shanxi Coking Coal Group, and it was bridged by the International Centers of Excellence on Coal Mine Methane in China.

The Georgian Industry Group Tkibuli coal mine Project exchange group visited the site of the PangPangta Mine, Tunlan Mine, and Fenxi Mining Equipment Repair Factory of Shanxi Coking Coal Group successively, and they also praised the mine's modern mining technology, mine gas drainage management and utilization technology. During the inspection, all parties focused on expansion plans, investment estimates, economic benefits, financing methods, risks, and countermeasures of the Tkibuli coal mine, conducted full exchanges and consultations, and reached consensus.

The Georgia Industry Group believes that Shanxi Coking Coal has strong strength, advanced technology, and first-rate facilities. Its implementation plan for cooperation projects has advanced technology, advanced technology, and practical characteristics, and is in line with the actual needs of the expansion of the Tkibuli Coal Mine. They are willing to cooperate with Shanxi Coking Coal in this project and other fields.
Shanxi Coking Coal Group is committed to arranging a strong and professional team and working together with the Georgian Industry Group to effectively build the project into a demonstration project of the cooperation between the two companies and even the two countries in the “Belt and Road” coal sector, and to promote cooperation in other fields which will lead to a Win-win situation.

Prior to this, in December 2017, the International Centers of Excellence on Coal Mine Methane in China led the Shanxi Coking Coal Delegation to Georgia to participate in the “Belt and Road” forum in Tbilisi and arranged a field trip to the Tkibuli Coal Mine. At present, the center is currently linking with relevant financial institutions and actively assisting the Georgian Industrial Group in seeking project financing solutions.
