According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China and the General Administration of Customs, in the first quarter of this year, China's raw coal output was 810 million tons, up 0.4% year-on-year. In the first four months, China imported 99.926 million tons of coal, up 1.7% year-on-year. According to preliminary estimates by the China Coal Industry Association, China's coal consumption in the first four months was about 1.25 billion tons, a slight increase year-on-year. At the end of April, the inventory of key coal enterprises fell by 15.5% year-on-year. China's unified power plant coal storage can be used for 25 days, still at a relatively high level. According to analysis, in the first four months of this year, with the slowdown in the growth rate of electricity consumption in the whole society and the increase in power generation capacity of hydropower stations, the consumption of coal was significantly slowed down. The increase in coal consumption was mainly due to the demand of the steel and cement industries. In the first quarter, coal production in Shaanxi, Shandong, Hebei, and Anhui provinces decreased by 14.1%, 7.8%, 6.7%, and 4.3%, respectively. According to the statistics of China Coal Industry Association, in the first quarter, the asset-liability ratio of coal enterprises above designated size was 65.4% (the asset-liability ratio of large coal enterprises was 71.2%), down 1.7 percentage points year-on-year, but the total profit decreased by 18% year-on-year. The above enterprises are 14.7 percentage points.
